Over at Common Sense Political Thought, I've had to all but ban Jes from commenting because--like here before--it refuses to stick to the topics of a post and tries to hijack every thread.
The latest is a series of posts I've written about the Chocolate Jesus controversy, including a couple of posts on how the left didn't understand (and was quite condescending about it) why any Christian would be offended by the art exhibit (see here and here).
The gist of Jes's comments are that OMG! Some nuts threatened the hotel! Therefore, any insensitivity on the part of leftists to the concerns of the majority of protesters is completely justified. No matter how many times it is pointed out that the exhibit was shut down before any nutballs issued death threats is ignored; no, the meme must be repeated ad nauseam.
Now comes news that those peace-lovin' lefties assaulted Karl Rove when he made an appearance at American University.
White House Advisor Karl Rove was the target of a protest on the American University campus Tuesday night, NBC 4 reported.
Rove was on the campus to talk to the College Republicans, but when he got outside more than a dozen students began throwing things at him and at his car, an American University spokesperson said.
The students then got on the ground and laid down in front of his car as a protest.
The students said security officials picked them up and carried them away so Rove could leave.
Police said they have dealt with a lot of protests on campus and this one was handled peacefully.
No one was arrested.
Curiously, for all the concern about the safety of the chocolate Jesus artist--because we know lefties are oh, so concerned about safety at protests--there's been nary a word of this on the big lefty sites, and certainly no concern for the safety of Karl Rove. I'm sure that's just an oversight, right?
