President Bush warned Democrats Tuesday to accept his offer to allow top aides to testify about the firings of federal prosecutors only privately and not under oath, or risk a constitutional showdown from which he would not back down.
Ahh, the constitutional showdown has begun.
For everybody who voted Democrat to "teach the Republicans a lesson," here's your lesson: Democrats will always try to tear down a Republican president when they have the ability to do so. Always.
It doesn't matter what excuse they must use. It doesn't matter how many other agenda items get tossed aside. It doesn't matter whether what they want is, in deed, to embark on a fishing expedition. They will use whatever time and money they have to try to impeach or at least discredit any Republican administration. Because that's how Democrats work.
BTW, how's the war in Iraq going?
