Liberal Hypocrisy about Sarah Palin

The hypocrisy from the Left regarding Sarah Palin's vice presidential nomination has been breath-taking to behold. Here's a list, which may be incomplete by the time I publish this post:

1. Not experienced (foreign policy edition)--Democrats have suddenly decided that a vice presidential nominee without foreign policy experience isn't qualified. Funny, that didn't really bother them much when John Edwards was their vice presidential nominee.

2. Not experienced (executive edition)--Running a town, and then a state, doesn't count as executive experience for Democrats. Running your presidential campaign does.

3. A woman's right to choose--Democrats are all for women being able to choose what they want to do, provided that choice includes abortion. Don't have a career and kids, particularly handicapped children. Not only that, but thinking abstinence is the best way to prevent pregnancy is hypocrisy, even though that isn't really what "hypocrisy" means. That you support a position that doesn't work out for you isn't hypocritical. As I stated previously, hypocrisy would have been if the Palins publicly supported abstinence only education then took their daughter to Planned Parenthood for contraception and an abortion. Palin is pro-life, even when being pro-life means living with complications (notice that having children isn't "punishment," as so many on the Left believe).

Even Dr. Phil has told the whackos to back off on the "parents have ultimate control of 17-year-olds" argument. Personally, I love it when people without teenagers think you can make them do what you want them to do all the time. These people have forgotten what they themselves were like at 17. Or maybe they always did what their parents wanted?

4. Troopergate and domestic violence-- Patterico is now calling it "Tasergate," which is more appropriate, since the discussion centers on the tasering of an 11-year-old. Plus assorted domestic violence-type offenses. This isn't trying to get somebody fired because they cheated on your sibling. This was a "peace officer" who threatened people and tasered his son. Usually, liberals are very supportive of domestic violence victims. I guess it doesn't count if you are a Republican.

5. Vice presidential role--For two weeks, all I heard was how Joe Biden was going to fill the attack dog role usually assigned to the vice presidential candidate. The idea is that the veep pick can say things about the opponent that would be unseemly for the presidential candidate to say (not that that's stopped the Obama campaign, but still). Now, suddenly, Palin was too negative. Were these people concerned when Biden said the U.S. is less secure because of John McCain? Not that I've seen.

Add your own examples.
