Dana has a kinda worried post at Common Sense Political Thought that the McCain-Palin surge will dissipate and we will wake up November 5 to discover it was a horrible dream that we might actually win.
I'll admit, the skeptic in me casts a jaundiced eye at electoral college maps that show us winning, but when I read about Barack Obama's latest gaffe--an ad in which he contends that McCain is too old to be president because he doesn't use a computer--I get all giggly again. From Jonah Goldberg, we get a link to this March 4, 2000 Boston Globe story which explains why McCain doesn't use a computer. And it's not because he's senile.
McCain gets emotional at the mention of military families needing food stamps or veterans lacking health care. The outrage comes from inside: McCain's severe war injuries prevent him from combing his hair, typing on a keyboard, or tying his shoes. Friends marvel at McCain's encyclopedic knowledge of sports. He's an avid fan - Ted Williams is his hero - but he can't raise his arm above his shoulder to throw a baseball.
I know the Left is tired of hearing that McCain was a POW, but then, they walked right into this one.
