The $10 Million Cheese

A man is suing McDonald's for $10 million because they put cheese on his hamburger.

The man says he bit into a hamburger and had a severe allergic reaction to the cheese melted on it.

Jeromy Jackson, who is in his early 20s, says he clearly ordered two Quarter Pounders without cheese at the McDonald's restaurant in Star City before heading to Clarksburg.

His mother Trela Jackson and friend Andrew Ellifritz are parties to the lawsuit because they say they risked their lives rushing Jeromy to United Hospital Center in Clarksburg.

Why would a guy who is supposedly severely allergic to cheese bite into a hamburger without checking it? Even if, as these people claim, Jackson repeatedly requested the hamburger without cheese, why risk his life for a hamburger?

I don't have any severe allergies, but I know when I ask for a burger a particular way, I check the burger before I bite into it. Then I get it fixed if necessary.

According to the story, McDonald's has offered to pay half the medical bills for treatment (about $700), then offered to pay all medical bills.

But it sounds like Jackson is looking for the hot coffee payoff. Didn't he learn anything from this guy?
