Why Should the GOP Show Up at NAACP Events?

Jeffrey Feldman at Frameshop thinks he has a "gotcha" moment when no GOP candidate but Tom Tancredo showed up at the NAACP GOP Candidate Forum.

Feldman thinks this is proof that the GOP are racists and not committed to civil rights, but the real reason GOP candidates don't show up at NAACP events is because the radicals running the NAACP use these events to beat up Republicans.

Doesn't anyone remember the NAACP ad that stated that then Texas Governor Bush's veto of hate crimes legislation was like lynching James Byrd all over again? The perpetrators of Byrd's lynching received the worst possible sentences under Texas law and hate crimes legislation wouldn't have changed that.

Given that ad, why would any GOP candidate appear at a NAACP function? What purpose would it serve, other than to give Democrats free footage?

This doesn't show the racism of GOP candidates. It shows their intelligence.
