It Hasn't Rained for Two Whole Days...

So we finally got to go swimming today at a church youth party. It was a lot of fun and the kids enjoyed swimming for only the second time this summer. It rained daily for nearly two weeks. That doesn't happen in Texas!

We are now more than 15 inches ahead of schedule for the year, which is nice for a change.

It took 2 1/2 hours for my oldest daughter to mow my father's lawn. The grass was nearly up to her knees, due largely to the fact that it has rained so much she hasn't had a chance to mow it. While she was happy for the money my father gave her for doing it, she definitely earned it!

They are forecasting still more rain over the next week, albeit more of the "isolated" variety. I may try to take pictures of our "little" creek in the next day or so.
