Had to chuckle at a pullout from this post, slamming Joe the Plumber as unqualified to run for public office:
I guess being unqualified for the job, cheating on your taxes and going under an assumed name are the hallmarks of a good conservative these days.
After the election of Barack Obama to POTUS, I find it amazing that anyone could actually say with a straight face that any other person was unqualified for public office. Obama had no executive experience, no business experience, and little legislative experience. At least Joe the Plumber has worked for a living.
As for "cheating on your taxes," I guess the blogger hadn't heard of Timothy Geithner, Obama's pick to head the Internal Revenue Service, a man who didn't pay his taxes for years, even after receiving notice that he owed them. This is a man who tried to claim his child's sleep away camp as a child care deduction (I can't make this stuff up). Lord knows what else he tried to claim as deductions.
And "going under an assumed name"? What the heck is that? We aren't allowed to go by middle names now? It's not like Joe invented that practice. I guess it's, somehow, underhanded to do it if you're a Republican.
All of this is to say that, yet again, IOKIYAD.
