President Obama, true to his pro-abortion roots, is expected to rescind the executive order barring taxpayer funding of overseas abortions. The move could come as early as today.
In most instances, Obama wants Congress to play bad guy and produce legislation codifying pro-abortion and anti-life policies, such as embryonic stem cell research. Such moves can only be called "anti-life," given the fact that adult stem cells have been found to be as effective--and less controversial--than ESCR ever hoped to be. President Bush's order didn't stop ESCR, it merely restricted its use of taxpayer money. If ESCR were really so promising, private funding would have come forward.
But none did.
To endorse ESCR now, when it has been proved unnecessary, can be seen as nothing less than a slap in the face to the pro-life community.
