Only a Liberal Would See Surrender as Winning

Ayman al-Zawahiri says Al Qaeda wants to spill more U.S. blood before America withdraws, according to a new video posted on the internet.

So, how do the nutroots interpret this? Hard to believe, but to the moonbats, this means President Bush and Al Qaeda are on the same side. Try to follow this logic.

If one starts out assuming that anything coming out of Ayman al-Zawahiri’s mouth is bound to be more hyperbolic propaganda than credible information, what does he seem to think about the prospect of the U.S. leaving Iraq? “This bill will deprive us of the opportunity to destroy the American forces which we have caught in a historic trap.” Sounds pretty clear to me: He wants the U.S. to stay in Iraq. He does not want us to leave. Let’s put that another way: Bush and Zawahiri are on the same page.

Now, given the hysteria on the right about the Democrats surrendering to Al Qaeda, wouldn’t you think they’d be just a little perturbed that Al Qaeda is actually upset about the troop withdrawal idea? Wouldn’t you think they would be questioning their support for staying in Iraq ad infinitum, given that this seems to be precisely what Al Qaeda wants us to do?

Yes, you would think that. But you’d be wrong.

It's really hard to believe that there are people in America dumb enough to believe this logic. Al Qaeda wants to kill Americans who are fighting for a stable Iraq. According to moonbat logic, we should retreat and give Al Qaeda victory so our soldiers don't die because our soldiers didn't know when they signed up for the military that they might have to put their lives in danger. Got that? These numb nuts think losing the war is the way to win it. The conversation runs this way.
Republican: Al Qaeda has a new tape out saying they want to kill more Americans.

Democrats: We gotta surrender now to avoid American deaths!

Republican: But we're killing way more of them than they kill of us. Doesn't this strike you as propaganda? And doesn't retreat sound like they win, gaining more stature in the Middle East? Wouldn't that embolden our enemies to attack us here?

Democrat: Don't be ridiculous! We have to retreat so they don't get to kill American soldiers! If we stay there and defeat them, then...then we win and that's a bad thing!

There's no explaining how far up one's ass one must stick one's head to understand moonbat logic. But read their writing and you can understand why Al Qaeda thinks we'd be scared of this tape.
