The youngest kiddoes are at church camp this week. Oldest daughter lives two blocks over with her dad. That means that for the first time in 16 1/2 years, I am without children in my house. My husband pointed out that this is the first time since we've been married that there are no kidlets here.
I know, I know. It's just a week. And there aren't any arguments over who's played on the computer longest or who got the last Jell-O pudding. No complaints of boredom. No fights to settle. Nobody asking to go to the library or the pool.
But it's too quiet. And when I clean up the living room, it stays clean. There's something unnatural about this.
