Dems spark alarm with call for national ID card

Democratic leaders have proposed requiring every worker in the nation to carry a national identification card with biometric information, such as a fingerprint, within the next six years, according to a draft of the measure.

Anyone who thought Democrats would be able to gin up Hispanic angst about the new Arizona law without calling for even more government intrusion in your life hasn't been watching this bunch govern for the last four years.

The Democrats' proposal offers a road to amnesty citizenship for illegals (give 'em eight years), and some token money for border security. But Americans overwhelmingly want border security first, and that's something Dems are loathe to do. Afterall, illegals today are Democrat voters tomorrow.
